As part of a wider regeneration initiative for Weston-super-Mare, Herringbone was approached by The Stable, a new creative and tech hub in the heart of the town centre, to design and deliver the coworking interior design scheme for phase 1 of the project.
The building itself was built in 1896 and amongst some of its former uses were as a printing works, coach-house, nightclub and most recently occupied by the Citizens Advise Bureau. In total the building covers nearly 1000sq metres and its industrial Victorian architecture provided an ideal backdrop for the new interior scheme and life as a creative multifunctional office and event space.
Predominantly being used as a space enabling local creatives and IT specialists to rent office space, the rooms also had to be flexible enough to be re-arranged for various events outside of office hours. Being a creative hub and a new concept for Weston-super-Mare meant the brief was for a visually quirky and unique space that would inspire people, with scope to evolve the space over time as usage dictated.
The brief was also to include The Stable brand colours throughout as much as possible. The budget was extremely tight, but quirky and unique we delivered.
